Ambedkar Nagar. Former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi, gave direct access to the country’s treasury to the common man and the poor by nationalizing fourteen banks. District Congress Committee President Sunil Mishra addressed the National Unity Integrity Seminar organized at the District Congress Office on Indira Jayanti. He said that while Indira Gandhi changed the geography of the world by dividing Pakistan into two parts, she made the country self-sufficient in foodgrain production through the Green Revolution, today the entire world pays tribute to her.
District Congress Committee Press Officer Dr Vijay Shankar Tiwari said today marks the 196th birth anniversary of the great heroine of the 1857 freedom struggle, Maharani Lakshmibai, and the 107th birth anniversary of Former Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi under the chairmanship of district Congress president Sunil Mishra and the leadership of senior leader Shrikant Verma celebrated Unity and Integrity Day. All the congressmen present at the program paid tribute to his portrait by placing garlands on it and pledged to follow his ideals and held a seminar on national unity and integrity.
Former district president Ram Kumar Pal and Ghulam Rasool Chhotu said that Bharat Mata’s brave daughter Maharani Laxmibai and former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi sacrificed themselves for the country. Uttar Pradesh Congress state social media general secretary Sanjay Tiwari, Uttar Pradesh Youth Congress general secretary Vishal Verma and district vice-president Sukhi Lal Verma said that while Indira Gandhi played a important role in the freedom struggle by creating Vanarsena, also took the country to the heights of development after independence. Dr Vijay Shankar Tiwari, Ram Janam Dubey, senior leaders Shrikant Verma and Rajesh Verma, State Secretary Disabled Cells and Cooperative Cell Chairman Raj Bahadur Mishra also addressed the seminar. Importantly, Congress district secretary Gyanendra Pathak, Sheetala Prasad Srivastava, former backward class president Manjeet Rajbhar, Nathai Ram of the Dalit Working Group, Pintu Yadav, Narendra Yadav, Raju, etc. were present.
