He said independence can be achieved by creating an ecosystem of business opportunities in space technology. The ISRO chairman said that Moon-related missions are very expensive. In such a situation, we cannot depend solely on the government to fund ISRO.
S Somnath said: ISRO does much more
S. Somnath said we have to create business opportunities for ISROs. If you want to pursue this, you will have to prove the usefulness of ISRO. Otherwise, when we do something, the government will ask us to stop it. In this regard, he said that ISRO does much more than just space work. Answering questions, he said we have issued notices to fishermen. We also advise fishermen on where to find their fish. This allows fishermen to save a large amount of diesel needed for their boats.
