A total of 1,574 players had registered for this auction. Of them, 574 players have been shortlisted by the IPL Governing Council. That means only 574 players will participate in the auction, of which 366 are Indians and 208 are foreigners. At the same time, a team can include a maximum of 25 players in its squad and it is also necessary to make a squad of at least 18 players. In this situation, all teams have already retained 46 players, so now only 204 spots can be filled during the auction.
