Highlights from Day 1 of IPL Mega Auction: The two-day mega auction of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. On November 24 (Sunday), the first day of the mega auction, money rained down on domestic and foreign players. During this period, 72 players were sold. Some players were also disappointed. Now the auction will be held on the second day, November 25 (Monday), in which a maximum of 132 players will be sold. To buy them, a total of Rs 173.55 million is left in the purse of the 10 teams.

Batsman Rishabh Pant created history on the first day of the auction. Pant has now become the most expensive player in the history of the IPL. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) bought the pants for Rs 27 crore. Pant broke the record of Shreyas Iyer, who was bought by Punjab Kings (PBKS) for Rs 26.75 crore in the same auction. Shreyas Iyer is now expected to captain Punjab Kings in IPL 2025, while Rishabh Pant is likely to lead Lucknow Super Giants. Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal also dominated the auction, which was bought by Punjab Kings for Rs 18 crore. On the other hand, former Lucknow Super Giants skipper KL Rahul will now play for Delhi Capitals, for whom a bid of Rs 14 crore was received.
