Usman’s code name was “Chhota Walid” and he was considered the most senior Lashkar-e-Taiba commander in Kashmir. In recent times its activities have been continuously increasing. For this reason it had become one of the first places on the list of objectives of the security forces. Usman’s role is being investigated in the murder of Jammu and Kashmir Police Inspector Masroor during a local cricket match in Eidgah area of ​​Srinagar in October 2023. According to security forces, Usman’s murder is an achievement important against terrorism in Kashmir.

IGP VK Birdi informed that the terrorist killed by security forces was identified as Usman. He was Lashkar’s commander. He said that 4 members of the security personnel have been injured in this operation. The role and involvement of the slain terrorist in the murder of Inspector Masroor has come to light. More research is being done on this matter.

Usman dies in encounter with Khanyar

During the Khanyar encounter, there was intense firing between the security forces and the terrorists. Two CRPF jawans and two policemen were injured in this encounter. After the encounter, security forces recovered Usman’s body as well as a large quantity of ammunition from the incident site. This encounter is considered to be the largest terrorist encounter that took place in Srinagar after September 15, 2022.

3 terrorists killed in 24 hours

In the last 24 hours, three terrorists have been eliminated in three separate encounters in Kashmir. These encounters include Srinagar, Bandipora and Anantnag. The encounter continues in Bandipora, while two terrorists were killed in the encounter that began in Anantnag forests on Saturday. Security forces have achieved great success in search operations at all three locations.

Security forces believe that these encounters and elimination of terrorists will reduce terrorist activities in Kashmir to some extent. The murder of a dangerous terrorist like Usman has caused great damage to the Lashkar-e-Taiba network.
