Jhansi: Ten children died and the condition of five children is critical after a massive fire broke out in the children’s ward of Jhansi Medical College, UP, on Friday night. There were 47 newborns admitted to the room where the fire occurred. CM Yogi has expressed regret over this matter and announced compensation.

How much compensation will I receive?

CM Yogi has ordered the administration to immediately provide assistance of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs 50 lakh to the seriously injured.

Earlier, Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak had contacted Jhansi Medical College and said that it is a very unfortunate incident that 10 children have died. The children are being identified along with their families. There will be a high-level investigation into the incident.

He had said that the first investigation will be done at the government level, which will be carried out by the Department of Health. The second investigation will be carried out at the district level, which will be carried out jointly by the police administration team and the fire department. The third investigation will be carried out by a magistrate. The deputy CM had also said that he will find out how the incident occurred, why it occurred and determine the responsibilities. I won’t leave anyone after this.
