(Jind News) Jind. To prevent cases of dengue, malaria and chikungunya, the Health Department, as part of its unique initiative, knocked on the doors of public schools on Tuesday. In a single day, 208 Health Department employees reached 208 public schools and carried out an awareness campaign to educate children, teachers and other staff about mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue, chikungunya and malaria. This initiative is being taken by the Department of Health to prevent mosquito-borne diseases in the society. The campaign began at 9 in the morning and all employees arrived at public schools to raise awareness among children and teachers about the causes, symptoms and prevention measures of mosquito-borne diseases.

Information on measures to identify mosquito breeding sites and keep them clean

Health teams focused especially on identifying mosquito breeding sites and taking measures to keep them clean. Which includes coolers, pots, freezer trays, old tires thrown on the roof, pots, cans, water tanks and water utensils kept for the birds. During this time, feedback will also be taken from the children to check and clean these hatcheries to ensure all locations are clean. Additionally, employees were ordered to organize rallies, contests and painting competitions. Which will help raise awareness.

Dr Ramesh Panchal, deputy marketing director, malaria, said the campaign is an important step in creating awareness about mosquito-borne diseases in Jind. This initiative aims to raise awareness among all sectors of society about protection against mosquito-borne diseases. As per the orders of the Health Minister, fogging work has been assigned to Gram Panchayats and urban bodies so that fogging work can be ensured.

Health workers provided information on malaria, dengue and chikungunya fever to students

On Tuesday, teams from the Health Department, at various schools in Kalwa Community Health Centre, briefed school children about the causes, symptoms and prevention of malaria, dengue and chikungunya fever. In Kalwa village, health supervisors Sandeep Kundu, Bijendra Bura, Sumitra Devi, Neelam and Sunita were specially motivated to make schoolchildren part of the anti-dengue campaign.

Meanwhile, at Jajwan Government Higher Secondary School on Tuesday, health workers raised awareness among students about prevention of mosquito-borne diseases and held an awareness rally. It was chaired by Principal Pravesh Kumar while MPHW Sushil Sharma created awareness among the students. At Government Higher Secondary School in Jajwan Village under Dariyawala Primary Health Centre, under the chairmanship of Pravesh Kumar Principal, Sushil Sharma MPHW created awareness among children about prevention of mosquito borne diseases and was conducted an awareness demonstration.
