JK: Violent protests over installation of cable car in Jammu Kashmir Katra NTC.

Protests by local people against the proposed ropeway project to the Vaishno Devi temple in Jammu and Kashmir continue unabated. Also on Monday, about 2,000 people protested against the project. Stones were also thrown at the police during this period.

Monday was the fourth day of this protest that began on November 22. This demonstration has continued continuously for the last three days. Today, for the fourth day, Congress leader Bhupendra Singh was also present with the protesters. Let us tell you that Bhupendra is also the leader of the workers working on the Vaishno Devi road for the last few years.

On Monday, police attempted to arrest protesting workers. However, he did not listen to the police. When the police tried to remove them by force, they started throwing stones. Many police officers were also injured in the stone-pelting. Currently, CRPF 6 battalion is also at the spot along with the police administration and continuous efforts are being made to convince the protesters.

The project is worth Rs 250 crore.

The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board is trying to push forward the Rs 250-crore passenger ropeway project between Tarakote Marg and Sanji Chhat along a 12-km track. However, after the announcement of this plan, traders and owners of mules and palanquins began to protest. It started on November 22.

The cable car project will be a game changer

The Shrine board announced last week the implementation of the long-awaited cable car project to facilitate safe and fast travel for pilgrims. According to Shrine Board CEO Anshul Garg, the ropeway project will be a game-changer. Especially for those pilgrims who find it challenging to travel to the temple.
