21 livestock census will be carried out through digital means
The animal census is important for the improvement of breeds and milk production.

To promote animal husbandry, the government and the animal husbandry department have launched programs so that farmers can take advantage of them and take the country to the number one position in milk production. Due to this, the Department of Livestock, Government of India has carried out the 21st Livestock Census campaign across the country. It has already started in some states but will start in Haryana in the next few days. All preparations for this have been completed. The XX Livestock Census of 2019 was carried out digitally for the first time. Now for the second time this livestock census is being carried out through a digital medium where this census will be carried out by going to every house, every office, institution in every area of the state through an application, so that the data of animals in Haryana It can be collected.
219 breeds of animals of 16 species. calculation will be done
Dr Amit, District Nodal Officer, said that in the 21st livestock census to be held in 2024, animals of 16 species will be counted. In which 219 breeds of animals come from. This will mainly include buffaloes, cows, sugar, goats, sheep and dogs. This calculation will take into account whether animals of this species are found in a government department, in a cow barn, or if someone has had them in their home or on a farm.
Employees and managers have been designated for the calculation.
Dr Amit said that this census will start recently in Haryana. Due to which the duty has been imposed for employees and officials to be accounted for at the district level. 115 employees of the Livestock Department will be sent to the field in Karnal district. Whose training has been completed and they have also performed the drive run. 28 supervisors have been deployed and all of them will do the calculations under the supervision of deputy director of Karnal district livestock department. Dr Amit said that in 2019 the 20th livestock census was conducted in which around 1 lakh 55000 cows of all species were counted in Karnal district while the number of buffaloes was 2 lakh.
