Criminals have become fearless in Kaushambi district of Uttar Pradesh. In 24 hours the criminals committed two major robberies. On Wednesday night, 500 grams of gold and 10 kg of silver were looted at gunpoint from bullion dealer Birendra Kumar at Mohabbatpur Painsa Kotwali village in Jagannathpur.

Birendra Kumar was returning home on a bicycle after closing the shop with his wife. Near the canal bridge, three criminals on bicycles stopped them and snatched a bag full of jewelry. While escaping, the businessman caught a criminal, beat him with the help of villagers and handed him over to the police. During this, the two remaining evildoers escaped while shooting into the air.

Criminals looted gold and silver from bullion dealer

After the incident, angry villagers created a ruckus at the police post. The police arrested one criminal and began searching for the remaining two. DSP Abhishek Kumar Singh said there were 500 grams of gold and 10 kg of silver in the businessman’s bag. The investigation into the case continues and a team has been formed to nab the fugitive criminals.

Police registered the case and started investigation.

Earlier on Tuesday, miscreants had also looted Rs 2 lakh from seed trader Ramdev at gunpoint in Sandipan Ghat police station area. Due to the continuous incidents, panic has spread in the area.
