Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Saturday said the Congress’ social media policy based on lies, fabrications and false data has become active again. Puri said the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government is defending the credibility of promises, while the Congress is defending the credibility crisis. Senior congressional leaders fail to check facts before making their misleading opinions public.
In a post on I would like to remind you that India’s economic growth reflects continued job creation in key sectors, while its renowned economists and policies left us at 11th place in 2014.
The Petroleum Minister said the country’s GDP grew at an average rate of over 6.5 per cent during the same period, providing direct and indirect employment opportunities to the youth of India.
Highlighting the improvement in employment, Puri said Indian labor market indicators show the unemployment rate has declined to 3.2 per cent in 2022-23. The agricultural sector remains dominant, employing more than 45 percent of the workforce, and there is a gradual shift toward manufacturing and services.
He wrote: “According to PLFS, the youth unemployment rate (15-29 years) is expected to decline from 17.8 per cent in 2017-18 to 10 per cent in 2022-23. EPFO is projected to reach 131, 5 lakh in 2024, while the sharing economy workforce is expected to increase to 2.35 crore by 2029-30.”
Criticizing Congress president Kharge, the Oil Minister said Kharge is seeing the “stampede” but does not know that the proportion of the working population has increased by about 26 per cent between 2017-2023. “He has clearly been looking in all the wrong places and getting false information, or perhaps he is simply too busy trying to keep his party together and believing the lies his advisors peddle; Or are you too worried about the “unemployment” of your party’s nomadic prince?”
