A doctor at a private hospital located at EM Bypass in Kolkata has filed a case against a taxi driver for sending obscene videos and threatening her. The doctor had booked a taxi through the InDrive app around 8pm on Friday. The doctor canceled the taxi due to the delay in reaching the pickup location.
After this, the taxi driver allegedly sent an obscene video message threatening the doctor. The app’s taxi driver allegedly called her several times and eventually threatened her with dire consequences. The doctor complained about this incident to Kolkata Police Commissioner and Cyber Cell via email.

FIR registered in various sections of BNS
On Saturday, two colleagues of the victim doctor, Dr Sunandan Basu and Dr Tanmay Banerjee of WBDF (West Bengal Doctors Forum), went to Purva Jadavpur police station to lodge the FIR around 2am. Saturday afternoon. In this case, several sections of the BNS have been imposed.
In this case, the police have assured that appropriate action will be taken against the driver. Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case under section 354A (sexual harassment), section 354 (attempt to outrage the modesty of a woman) and section 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. Police say action is being taken in this regard.
