Uttar Pradesh: On the initiative of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, ‘Krishi Bharat 2024’ fair will be organized for the first time in Uttar Pradesh from November 15 to 18. This four-day fair, which is organized to promote new technologies and increase production in the state’s agriculture and livestock sector, will be inaugurated by CM Yogi on Friday at Vrindavan Yojana Ground in the capital. It is estimated that around 1 lakh farmers from across the state will come together for this. At the fair, 200 exhibitors from the country and the world related to the agricultural industry will exhibit their products and technology. On Thursday, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized a press conference at Lok Bhavan on organizing ‘Agro Tech India – Agriculture India 2024’.
Farmers’ interest paramount for yogi government
Chairing the programme, Agricultural Production Commissioner Monica S Garg said Uttar Pradesh is an agricultural state, where 75% of the land is used for agriculture. He said the Yogi government considers the interests of farmers paramount and is executing many schemes for their welfare. Since then, the lack of mechanization has been felt in the agricultural sector of the state. Farmers continue to farm traditionally, when they should be using techniques such as line sowing and seedless drills. This will not only increase productivity but also reduce the cost of farming.
The use of advanced equipment will be encouraged.
The Commissioner of Agricultural Production, Mónica S. Garg, stated that special emphasis will be placed on stubble management at the fair. The government is providing equipment subsidies to farmers, but they are not utilizing it properly. During the program, farmers will be encouraged to use advanced equipment through the Farm Machinery Bank.
The event is being organized for the first time in Uttar Pradesh.
Agriculture Principal Secretary Ravindra said their main objective is to adopt advanced technologies in agriculture and double the income of farmers. New technologies in biotechnology, livestock, fishing and irrigation have also been included in this four-day program. Through this, farmers will be informed about modern farming methods as well as government schemes and subsidies.
More than 200 companies and more than 100 stands will participate.
CII representative Smita Aggarwal said that more than 200 companies from all over the world will participate in this event. Large companies such as Mahindra, Eicher, Sonalika and Escort will also show their technologies and equipment there. 11 technical sessions and 8 seminars for farmers will be organized in which experts will share their experiences.
Farmers to get benefits from government schemes
In the program, farmers will receive information about government schemes and subsidies. Buses have been arranged for farmers, through which more than one lakh farmers will be taken to the event. Here they will get information about new technologies and can apply to take advantage of the benefits of government schemes.
Holland will be the partner country
The Netherlands has been included as a partner country in this event. Experts and suppliers from the Netherlands will show their modern agricultural equipment and technologies. This will provide the farmers of Uttar Pradesh with an opportunity to familiarize themselves with world-class technologies.
Promotion of entrepreneurship in agriculture
During the programme, emphasis will be placed on promoting entrepreneurship in agriculture. Farmers will be provided with technical and business information to improve their farming businesses so that they can view farming as a profitable business.
