After the Panchayat, the farmers marched towards the Chief Minister’s residence in Sector 3 shouting slogans to submit a memorandum of their demands. As the farmers marched towards the Chief Minister’s residence, the police closed the road by putting up barricades at Jindal Chowk, opposite the Chief Minister’s residence. Farmers protest outside Chief Minister’s residence, submit memorandum of demands

After the Panchayat held at Devi Lal Park, a peaceful protest was taken out to the Chief Minister’s residence where a memorandum was handed over to the office of the Chief Minister in charge, Kailash Saini. Panchayat farmer leaders said the entire blame for pollution during the paddy season lies with the farmers. The agriculture department, administration and other agencies work as if the pollution comes from the farmer’s own field.

Instead of short and long term measures that the government should take for proper stubble management, cases are being filed against farmers across the state and red entries are being made on their crop procurement portal. This action of the Haryana Government against the farmers is against the December 9, 2021 agreement of the Central Government, in point 5 of which the Central Government has clearly said that in the case of stubble, Articles 14 and 15 of the Government of India law has exempted farmers from criminal liability. The availability of DAP is very less compared to the area sown for Rabi season crops across the state, due to which farmers have to stand in long queues. This year, farmers are facing losses of up to Rs 200 crore in rice crops. On this occasion, Kisan Sabha, BKU Tikait, BKU Ghasi Ram Nain, BKU Ekta Ugraha, Kisan Sabha Ajay Bhawan, BKU Mangeram, Turban Sambhal Jatta, Bharatiya Kisan Mazdoor Union, Bharatiya Kisan Sangharsh Samiti, Krantikari Kisan Union, AIKKMS, Kisan Mahasabha, Indian Kisan Kamgar Adhikar Morcha, Haryana Kisan Manch, Uchana Dharna and other organizations participated.

These demands were included in the memorandum

Cases filed against farmers in the name of stubble should be dismissed statewide.) The government should take adequate measures for stubble management or the expenses incurred in its management should be reimbursed to the farmers at the rate of Rs 3000 per acre so that they can remove the stubble from the fields. To address the problems related to environmental pollution, the government should involve all the affected people and make a concrete plan and stop blaming farmers every year. There is shortage of DAP fertilizer in all districts. The government should increase the supply of fertilizers in all districts.

Provide fertilizers to farmers as per their needs through rural society. Ensure stock boards are installed at all sales centers through agriculture officers of all districts. Strictly stop the forced sale of fertilizers and other agricultural materials such as nano DAP, seeds, medicines, nano urea, etc. The sale of fake fertilizers, seeds and medicines should be banned. This season, farmers have suffered huge losses in rice and other crops; The government should compensate them. During the assembly elections, Chief Minister Nayab Saini and Union Home Minister Amit Shah had promised that government procurement of paddy at Rs 3,100 per quintal should be implemented. Procurement of all crops must be accelerated, lifting of crops must be accelerated, and prompt procurement must be ensured. All cases filed against farmers during the farmers’ movement, assembly and Lok Sabha elections should be cancelled. The work of laying high tension power lines and underground gas and oil pipelines should be stopped by forcibly deploying police force and compensation should be given as per the demands of the farmers.
