Kurukshetra News: Police arrest farmers who were going to surround CM’s residence

Farmers worried over non-availability of DAP fertilizer, said: delay in wheat sowing
Kurukshetra News (Current Society) Kurukshetra: Anger from farmers upset over not receiving DAP fertilizer erupted on Tuesday. Angry farmers reached Kurukshetra to surround CM’s residence. As soon as the news of the farmers’ arrival was received, the police-administration detained the farmers who were barricaded in front of the CM’s residence. During this, angry farmers raised slogans against the government for not receiving DAP. Farmers said the wheat planting season has begun. But farmers do not receive DAP fertilizer.

So you can’t plant wheat. Farmers say that if this continues, their fields will be empty. You cannot plant wheat without DAP fertilizer. Earlier, Kisan Panchayat was organized by United Kisan Morcha at Devi Lal Park in Kurukshetra Sector 2. Many farmer unions of Haryana participated in the Panchayat.

These demands were presented to the government.

In the Panchayat, cases registered against farmers, red entry, stubble burning and shortage of beech and DAP fertilizers were demanded to be withdrawn. After this, the farmers reached Chief Minister Nayab Saini’s residence to convey their demands. Here the police stopped the farmers by erecting barricades. Farmers went on strike in the middle of the road.

Farmers queue for two days

Farmer leader Ratan Mann said the government should maintain sufficient stock of DAP fertilizer before the start of the wheat sowing season. So that farmers can get DAP as per their demand. Farmers have been queuing for two days to get DAP, but despite this, many farmers are unable to get the fertilizer.

Last Monday, Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana chaired a review meeting of officials on the availability of DAP fertilizer. After this he assured the farmers that there is no shortage of DAP in the state. The government is committed to providing adequate DAP to farmers. He also directed officials to assess the availability of urea fertilizer. The Agriculture Minister directed officials to review the availability of fertilizers and ensure that DAP is made available to farmers on time.

When and where will the fertilizer arrive?

The officials informed the minister that a rake plan has been drawn up for supply of DAP fertilizer in various districts. On November 6 in Khori and Sirsa, on November 7 in Kaithal and Kurukshetra, on November 8 in Bhattu, Tohana, Sirsa and Dhulkot, on November 9 in Bhattu, Tohana and Hisar, on November 10 in Bhiwani, Kaithal , Kurukshetra and Jind and The DAP Rakes will reach Gohana and Jind on November 11. The Agriculture Minister has assured farmers that necessary steps are being taken to ensure supply of DAP as per demand.
