In the 2019 assembly elections, SP’s Abu Asim Azmi won the seat by a margin of 25,601 votes. Abu Asim Azmi received 69,082 votes with 48.18% votes and defeated Vitthal Govind Lokre of SHS who received 43,481 votes (30.32%). In the 2014 assembly elections, SP’s Abu Asim Azmi won the seat and received 41,719 votes with 32.62% votes. SHS Assembly Election Result 2024: SHS candidate Suresh Krishnarao Patil secured 31,782 votes (24.85%) and came second. Abu Asim Azmi defeated Suresh Krishnarao Patil by a margin of 9,937 votes.
