Dharavi Assembly Election 2024: Dharavi assembly seat is one of the 288 constituencies of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. Dharavi is a major assembly seat in Maharashtra, where the Indian National Congress won in 2019. The Dharavi assembly seat falls in the Maharashtra district of the city of Mumbai. In 2019, a total of 45.31 per cent votes were cast in Dharavi. In 2019, Ms. Varsha Eknath Gaikwad of the Indian National Congress defeated Ashish Vasant Mor of the Shiv Sena by a margin of 11824 votes. The 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections will be held in a single phase on November 20. Voting will also be held for Dharavi assembly seat on the same date. The election results will be announced on November 23.

The specialty of this headquarters is that it covers the largest slum in Asia, Dharavi, which is the most important from the social, political and economic point of view. Talking about the 2019 Assembly elections, Congress’s Varsha Gaikwad won the Dharavi seat by 53,954 votes. He defeated Shiv Sena’s Ashish More, who got 42,093 votes. AIMIM’s Manoj Sansare came third with 13,097 votes. Also in 2014, Varsha Gaikwad won the Congress ticket by 47,718 votes.

Eknath Gaikwad’s daughter Varsha Gaikwad represented the Congress in the 2004, 2009, 2014 and 2019 assembly elections and won the seat four consecutive times. Varsha Gaikwad has been a popular face among the people of Dharavi. Varsha Gaikwad also made a lot of efforts in the field of education and social reform, which earned her a lot of support in Dharavi.
