Ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections, the Congress took strict action against rebel candidates. The party has suspended rebels who did not withdraw their nominations against the official Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) candidates from the party for six years. Maharashtra Congress in-charge Ramesh Chennithala, while speaking to the media on Thursday, said that Mahavikas Aghadi will not have a friendly contest in any assembly in the state. Those who ran as candidates against the party and despite appeals have not withdrawn their nominations. The party has suspended them all for six years.

The party has suspended other leaders including Yagyavalkya Jichkar (Katol), Jayshree Patil (Sangli), Rajendra Mulak (Ramtek), Aaba Bagul (Parvati) and Kamal Vyavahare (Kasba) for six years.

Let us tell you that Congress is an ally of the MVA in Maharashtra. Along with the Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT) and the Nationalist Congress Party (SP) are part of this alliance.

Meanwhile, a day after announcing the five assurances at the MVA public rally, the Congress announced that President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, All India Congress Committee general secretary, Priyanka Gandhi, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth. Reddy and other senior Congress leaders will hold rallies across the state to campaign for Congress and other MVA candidates. It was finalized at the Congress Campaign Committee meeting held at Tilak Bhawan in the presence of Chennithala.

After the meeting, Chennithala said Kharge will visit Maharashtra for five days and hold public meetings on November 13, 14, 16, 17 and 18.

Mahavikas Aghadi Election Manifesto of November 10

Rahul Gandhi will hold election rallies on November 12, 14 and 16. At the same time, Priyanka Gandhi’s election rallies have been scheduled for November 13, 16 and 17. Chennithala said the Mahavikas Aghadi election manifesto will be released on November 10. On this occasion, senior leaders of the alliance will be present.

Meanwhile, the Congress has complained to the Election Commission of India (ECI) that the BJP has issued “false advertisements” to spread “rumours and misinformation” against Congress’ assurances. In its complaint, the Congress has said that in Telangana, Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh, the Congress has already started implementing its promises, but the BJP is deliberately spreading misinformation.
