A case of kidnapping a businessman posing as a police officer and extorting Rs 40,000 from him in Bhiwandi taluka of Thane district of Maharashtra has come to light. Based on the victim businessman’s complaint, the police have registered a case against four persons, including a woman, under the Indian Justice Code (BNS).
A police officer said this incident occurred on Wednesday morning. The 20-year-old businessman said in his complaint that when he was in his car, the accused sitting in a car stopped his vehicle. They told him they were police. They know he’s involved in the beef business.
Senior inspector Bharat Kamat of Narpoli police station said the accused pulled the businessman out of the car. She forced him to sit at her pace. After this, they beat him brutally and demanded Rs 1 lakh from him. He threatened to kill him if he did not pay the money.
After this, he was forced to pay Rs 40,000 online. A case has been registered against the accused under sections of wrongful restraint, kidnapping for ransom, impersonating a public servant and common intention of the Indian Justice Code (BNS). The allegations are being investigated.
Let us tell you that in March this year, a tailor was arrested in Thane district for kidnapping and killing a 9-year-old boy for a ransom of Rs 23 lakh. The accused wanted to build a house with the ransom money. The accused was identified as Salman.
Badlapur senior police officer Govind Patil had said that in this barbaric crime, along with Salman, his brother Safuan Maulvi was also arrested in the kidnapping and murder case. The boy was identified as Ibadat. He had gone missing while returning from a mosque in Goregaon after offering namaz.
The police officer said the kidnapper called the boy’s family. Rs 23 lakh was demanded for his release. He told the family that he needed money to build a house and suddenly disconnected the phone. After the boy’s body was found in a sack, the police launched a campaign against him.
