A meeting of Mahayuti leaders was held at Home Minister Amit Shah’s house last night. In the meeting that lasted more than two hours, the formation of government in Maharashtra was discussed. In the meeting, both allies gave their consent for the BJP to become the Chief Minister. Both parties have no objection to the BJP becoming Chief Minister.

According to sources, some important portfolios were also discussed during the meeting. The Home Ministry, Finance Ministry, Revenue Ministry and Personnel Ministry will remain with the BJP. Important ministries like Ministry of Urban Development and PWD will go to Shiv Sena. The NCP may fall to the ministries of agriculture, irrigation, food supply, and medical and technical education.

Discussion on preparations for the grand swearing-in program

According to sources, top BJP leaders have appealed to Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar to become deputy chief ministers in the new Maharashtra government. The BJP will call a meeting of its legislative party and elect its leader in the next two days. Preparations for the grand swearing-in program have been discussed.

According to sources, in the meeting of about 2 hours, the first meeting of about 25 minutes was held between Eknath Shinde, Amit Shah and JP Nadda. Later Ajit Pawar and Devendra Fadnavis arrived, where a meeting was held between Shinde, Pawar, Fadnavis, Sunil Tatkare, home minister and BJP president. Maintaining trust among Maratha voters was also discussed in the meeting with Shinde.

What did Shinde and Fadnavis say?

Eknath Shinde described the meeting with Amit Shah and JP Nadda as good and positive. He says this was the first meeting. Talks have been held with Amit Shah and JP Nadda. There will be another Mahayuti meeting in which he is expected to decide who will take over as Chief Minister. The meeting will be held in Mumbai. However, Shinde had earlier made it clear that there is no problem regarding the post of Chief Minister and for him ‘Ladla Bhai’ is a post that has more importance than any other post.

Devendra Fadnavis expressed his gratitude to Union Home Minister Amit Shah for his support during the assembly elections. Sharing a post on Facebook, Fadnavis credited Shah for motivating and encouraging party workers during the elections. He wrote, ‘I commended Union Minister Amit Shah for his tremendous support at the electoral level during the important 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections and the way he motivated the workers. On this occasion, our BJP national president JP Nadda, Eknath Shinde, Ajitdada Pawar, Mahayuti leaders and allies were also present in New Delhi.

The BJP won 132 seats in the Maharashtra elections.

The results of the Maharashtra assembly elections came on Friday, the seventh day. The results were announced on November 23, but no decision has been taken so far on who will be the Chief Minister. The ruling Mahayuti alliance, led by the BJP, has not yet finalized the name of the prime minister. In the 280-member Maharashtra Assembly, the BJP has emerged as the largest party with 132 seats, while its allies Shiv Sena, led by Eknath Shinde, and the NCP, led by Ajit Pawar, have won 57 and 41. seats respectively.
