UP assembly elections

By-elections were held on November 20 for nine UP assembly seats. The seats where voting was held include Mirapur in Muzaffarnagar, Kundarki in Moradabad, Ghaziabad, Khair in Aligarh, Karhal in Mainpuri, Sisamau in Kanpur city, Phulpur in Prayagraj, Katehri in Ambedkar Nagar and Majhwan in Mirzapur. The SP had won seats in Karhal, Kundarki, Katehari and Sisamau. The Meerapur seat was won by RLD (RLD), then an ally of the SP, which is now part of the NDA.
