As the festival of Diwali approaches, many incidents ranging from fires to explosions come to light. In most cases, the main reasons for the incident are firecrackers and people’s carelessness. On Thursday, Diwali day, a similar accident left a family in mourning. A major incident took place on Diwali day in Sisamau area of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
Here, a man named Surendra left the house with his wife on a bicycle. According to police, he had a small cylinder and some objects in his hand. After this, suddenly an explosion occurred, due to which Surendra fell three meters away to another house and died on the spot. His wife also suffered severe burns, after which she was immediately taken to the hospital where she also died. There are more people injured in the incident who are receiving treatment.
On receiving information about the incident, a strong police force and a bomb disposal squad reached the spot. The team is trying to discover the cause of the explosion. An atmosphere of panic reigns in the area. Bharatiya Janata Party candidate from the same seat Suresh Awasthi who reached the spot said that Surendra was campaigning with him half an hour ago and after that suddenly this incident became even more unbelievable.
The impact of the explosion was such that cracks appeared in seven or eight nearby houses, windows were broken, two-wheelers parked nearby were completely burnt and even the windows of the vehicles were shattered. After the blast, Surendra’s body got stuck in the door of another house, after which the police team pulled him out and sent him for an autopsy.
Firecrackers were also recovered from the scene. It was discussed among the people that the incident occurred due to the explosion of firecrackers. The police are currently busy investigating the matter. DCP Central says Surendra was returning from the market with a small cylinder, so for some reason the explosion occurred. The forensic team is collecting evidence based on suspicions and the matter is being investigated.
