West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday attacked the central government and said that the state government does not need money from the central government for the housing scheme. Actually, Mamata said these things while accusing the Central Government of discriminating against the State Government in the housing scheme. Mamta said the Central Government has not contributed any amount for the rural housing scheme in the last three years. He said the central government is not giving 100 per cent money in this scheme but has named it Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
The state government provides 40 per cent of the money, but the central government imposes several conditions on the state governments to implement this plan. Attacking the central government, Mamta said that even the name of its housing scheme is different from that of Bengal. Targeting the Central Government, he said that the Center does not give the money due to the State Government, but it definitely does politics through it.
everyone will get a permanent home
Mamta said that without the help of the Central Government, the Bengal Government has built houses for more than 50 lakh people. CM said that currently there are 36 lakh kutcha houses in Bengal, but soon everyone will have a pucca house. In December, we will send money to the accounts of 12 lakh people for construction of houses. We will build the remaining 24 lakh houses in 2-3 years.
the money will have to be arranged
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said it will take some time to provide houses to everyone in Bengal because we will have to come up with money. We do not have a Reserve Bank to print money. Mamta said the houses provided by the state government will not have any different name. The government will give money only to build houses. The houses built with money from the state government will be known only as ‘Banglar Bari’.
Praise for Lakshmi Bhandar’s plan
Praising her scheme, Lakshmi Bhandar Yojana, Mamta said that five lakh seven thousand women have been included in it. Due to this, the state government will incur an additional expenditure of Rs 625 crore annually. CM said that these women will start receiving money from December. He said that around 24,000 women had applied to join this scheme.
