Autopsy reports of three of the six people who were allegedly kidnapped and murdered by Kuki militants in Manipur’s Jiribam district earlier this month have yielded shocking revelations. Among them are an eight-month-old baby, an eight-year-old girl and a 31-year-old woman.

What did the autopsy report reveal?

An autopsy conducted at Silchar Medical College and Hospital found that the eight-month-old baby had serious injuries on his head and neck. Cuts and dislocations were found on his body. Numerous bloody wounds and serious gunshot wounds were found on the eight-year-old girl’s body.

The 31-year-old woman, Telem Thoibi, was found with crush injuries to her head, fractured skull bones and missing brain membranes.

Other reports also mention painful torture.

The autopsy reports of Laishram Baran Maitri, 64, and Maibam Kesho, 71, also revealed serious injuries and burn marks. Severe burn marks were found on Maibam Kesho’s right hand and skin. Dark green wounds and injury marks were found on the back and lower back.

Laishram Baran Maitri’s report found that there were deep burn marks all over his body. His skull bones were broken and the insides of his face and mouth were severely burned.

Bodies and debris were found in the river.

The bodies of these three were recovered from the Barak river, which flows through Jiribam district of Manipur to Cachar in Assam. Two more bodies were found under rubble in Jakuradhor Karong area of ​​Jiribam district, where militants had set some shops on fire on November 11.

The investigation into these tragic incidents has now been handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
