Nasir, MLA from Lilong assembly constituency in Thoubal district, termed the killings a “cowardly act” and a “heinous crime that crosses all boundaries of barbarism”. He said: ‘This heinous crime has crossed all limits of barbarism. This is a cowardly act. Those responsible for the killings should be declared terrorists by the Government of India.
The proposal would have to be approved in Parliament.
Demanding immediate arrest of those responsible for the killings, the JDU MLA urged that a resolution be passed in the next session of Parliament condemning the incident. Nasir said that despite calls from various quarters, women and children were killed in a brutal and inhuman manner.
Bodies of people found in Assam after murder
