Police in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, recovered a minor girl missing from Delhi. According to Delhi Police, a 19-year-old youth has been arrested on charges of kidnapping. The police are also investigating the matter. Police provided information about this incident on Wednesday.
In fact, the police claimed to have rescued a 17-year-old girl who went missing from Delhi 11 days ago in Haldwani, Uttarakhand. According to a police officer, on November 9, the minor suddenly disappeared from her home. Following this, his family lodged a kidnapping complaint against a youth at the Lodhi Colony police station in Delhi.
Giving information in this matter, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Vikram Singh told PTI that several teams have been formed to recover the girl. The victim’s age and the revelation that the young suspect who was in contact with her was already married had worried the family and the police.
DCP Crime said preliminary investigation revealed that the accused lived in the same area as the victim. He first took her to Sitapur in Uttar Pradesh and then to various places including Ramgarh and Kathgodam in Uttarakhand.
DCP Singh said that a door-to-door investigation was carried out in and around Ramgarh, Kathgodam, following which, on Tuesday, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of Delhi Police recovered the girl from Haldwani and arrested the accused. Actually, this matter seems a bit complicated. Therefore, the police are investigating this matter further.
