Modi govt’s zero tolerance policy against terrorism: Amit Shah

New Delhi. Home Minister Amit Shah addressed the inaugural session of the Anti-Terrorism Conference-2024 in New Delhi. Shah clearly said that we are committed to ending terrorism. The Minister of the Interior stated that there have been 75 years of independence. So far, 36,468 police officers have sacrificed their lives to maintain the country’s internal security and border security. Today I want to pay tribute to all of them for their spirit of supreme sacrifice and also thank their families on behalf of the country.
Shah said that ten years after Prime Minister Modi became the country’s prime minister, the Indian government adopted a concrete strategy against terrorism. He said that today his motto of zero tolerance against terrorism has been accepted not only by India but by the entire world. A strong ecosystem has been created in India to fight terrorism. However, there is still much work to be done. He said the world has appreciated Prime Minister Modi’s call for “zero tolerance against terrorism”.
Over the years, the annual conference has become a meeting point for operational forces, technical, legal and forensic experts and counter-terrorism agencies to deliberate on issues affecting national security and threats arising from terrorism. The main objective of the conference is to develop synergy among various stakeholders by establishing channels for coordinated action against the threat of terrorism in the spirit of a “whole of government approach” and to present concrete inputs for future policy formulation, according to the statement.
