Relatives made serious accusations against the center’s operator and police launched an investigation
Moga Crime News (Aaj Samaj), Moga: A case of suspicious death of a youth has come to light in Cheema village of the district. It is said that there were injury marks on the young man’s body. In the complaint lodged with the police, the youth’s sister said that Karmjeet was admitted to a de-addiction center functioning in a house in Cheema village of Kot Isekhan, Moga, for a few days. Karmjeet was addicted to heroin and everyone was worried about his addiction. Because of this, he decided to admit Karmjeet to a detoxification center. He said the center where Karmjeet was admitted was functioning in a house. There are between 20 and 25 more young people admitted to that center.
The marriage took place 5 months ago.
It was said that young Karmjeet got married just 5 months ago. The relatives thought that if they treated him in a detoxification center he would be cured. After which, on Wednesday night they received information that Karmjeet had died. When they arrived at the center, the operator had fled. Karmjeet’s body was lying there. When they saw the body, it had many wound marks. Other youths admitted to the center said that Karmjeet was brutally beaten for his cleanliness. After which his condition worsened and he lost consciousness.

They said their relatives died due to a heart attack.
The deceased’s sister said she was informed that her brother had died due to a heart attack. Based on the statement of the relatives, the police have begun the investigation of the case. The police spokesperson said it will also be investigated whether the center was illegal or whether the operator of the center had some kind of certificate because a home-based de-addiction center never gets permission to operate it. On the other hand, the relatives blamed the operator of the center for the young man’s death and demanded that the police act appropriately.
