The name of the Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh may be Sidhi, but no job in the health services here seems to be easy. The regional hospital continues to appear in the headlines of health centers every day. Management may make many claims that the systems are excellent, but the reality on the ground tells a different story.
The latest case is that of Urmila Rajak, a resident of Kotaha, just 2 kilometers from the district headquarters of Sidhi. During childbirth pains, relatives called for an ambulance for a long time, but the ambulance did not come. Relatives were forced to load the pregnant woman into a cart and try to take her to the hospital. Unfortunately, the woman gave birth on the way and the newborn died.
Newborn was born in a car and died after a while
The relatives also said that when they arrived at the hospital, no doctor or nurse came out. The staff stationed outside the hospital did not provide any help. The pregnant woman herself was carried on a stretcher and admitted to the hospital. This incident demonstrates the negligence of the hospital, even though many doctors and nurses were there on duty.
The woman’s relatives allege that 108 was called several times. Even after this we could not find an ambulance. Then, while they were unloading him from the stroller, the delivery occurred on the road and the newborn died. The mother’s condition is said to be serious. The woman is being treated at the hospital.
Family of victim accused of not getting an ambulance
In such a situation, the question arises: if the state hospital system is like this, what will be the situation after privatization? The Madhya Pradesh government promises better health services to the poor, but the reality is in front of everyone. This matter raises serious questions about the Health Department, including the Chief Minister, especially when the responsibility of the Health Department lies with the Deputy Chief Minister, who belongs to Rewa district.
