China’s imports rose 9.8 percent year-on-year to $65.89 billion during April-October of the current financial year. However, according to data from the Ministry of Commerce, exports to China decreased by 9.07 percent in this period, to eight billion dollars. The United States remained the main export destination during this period. India’s exports to the United States increased by 6.01 per cent to $47.24 billion during the period under review.

During April-October of the current fiscal year, imports from Russia rose 8.85 percent to $38.8 billion, up from $35.65 billion a year ago. Similarly, imports from the United Arab Emirates increased by 55.12 percent to $8.64 billion. It was $24.9 billion in the first seven months of the last financial year. During this period, the country’s top 10 export destinations were the United States, United Arab Emirates, Netherlands, United Kingdom, China, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Germany and Australia. Exports to the UAE increased by 15.86 per cent to $20.93 billion during April-October of the current financial year. In the same period of the last fiscal year it was 18 billion dollars. In fiscal year 2020-24, the United States was India’s largest trading partner. Then came China. According to the data, UAE imports rose 70.07 percent to $7.18 billion in October, while exports rose 43.02 percent to $3.72 billion. India has a free trade agreement with the United Arab Emirates.
