Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei addressed the IRGC’s Basij Force on Monday. In his speech, he launched a major attack on Netanyahu and mentioned the ongoing Israeli attack on Gaza and Lebanon.

Referring to the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court against Benjamin Netanyahu, Khamenei called it inadequate and said Netanyahu should receive the death penalty for war crimes committed in Gaza and Lebanon.

The arrest warrant is not enough – Khamenei

There has been much speculation over the past few weeks about the health of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, but during the ‘Basij Week’ organized in Tehran on Monday, he met and addressed members of the Basij Force across the country. He said that what the Jewish administration has done in Gaza and Lebanon is not a victory for them but a war crime. He said that the arrest warrant against the Israeli Prime Minister is not enough. He said that in the future the resistance force will be expanded further.

Khamenei praised the Basij Force

Addressing the Basij Force, Khamenei said the Basij have courage, the ability to act quickly and a broad vision. He recognizes his enemies and is sensitive to various events. He said that we should not ignore determination and decision-making ability, but rather appreciate and strengthen them. He encouraged the Basij force and said that the Basij have their own goals and reasons and do not fear even death.

Meet Iran’s Basij Force

The Basij Force is part of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). It is a volunteer force that fights on the religious, political and economic front in Iran. According to numerous media outlets, the Basij Force is made up of about 90,000 soldiers, in which both men and women work. Not only this, the Basij Force can also mobilize around 10 lakh volunteers if required, its main task is to deal with anti-government activities within the country.
