Shimla. A day after the Congress dissolved all its units in Himachal Pradesh, state Congress chief Pratibha Singh said she had been defending one person, one post since the Congress government was formed in the state. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday dissolved the State Congress Committee, including the PCC, district and block units, in a bid to breathe new life into the party.
There is no factionalism in the party and I, along with Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, wrote a letter to the party high command to disband the units after consulting Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri and other senior leaders, he said. Singh said that earlier also in the Congress Legislature Party meeting, I had raised the issue of one person, one post and had said that the Congress leaders in the organization who are now part of the government should resign from their posts. and look for replacements. Suggestions should be given. He said senior leaders of the party would be consulted and their suggestions on who they would like to see in office would be considered to work together to strengthen the Congress in the state. He said inactive leaders would be replaced by hard-working people who could devote more time to party work and senior leaders, women, youth, SC, ST and OBC would be given a place in the State Congress Working Committee. There has been no change in the PCC since the Congress formed the government in the hill state in November 2022.

The new congressional executive will be small

State Congress president Pratibha Singh said a new executive will be formed with the consent of all senior leaders. It won’t be long. In this sense, priority will be given to women and young people. Leaders should not be appointed in both the party and the organization. She herself is a supporter of one man, one position. Therefore, this will be taken into account when forming the new executive. There will be a discussion with senior leaders about whether there will be an acting president in the new executive or not. Addressing a press conference at Rajiv Bhawan, state Congress headquarters, Shimla, Pratibha said the need for giving a single seat to the government and the organization and the need for working presidents will also be discussed.
