The Congressional equation is a disaster
If Male enters the cabinet after RJD, then only 10 of 12 seats will be left for Congress and JMM. In Jharkhand, only 12 ministers can be appointed in terms of seats. JMM won 34 seats and Congress won 16 seats.
That means a total of 4.6 MLAs are required for one seat. In this regard, Hemant claims 7 seats. Last time too Hemant Soren’s party won 7 seats. JMM wants to give only 3 seats to Congress.
Hemant Soren’s party says we had sacrificed for RJD in 2019. This time Congress should sacrifice for Male. Actually, as per the 2019 formula, there were 8 cabinet seats in the JMM quota and 4 in the Congress quota.
JMM had given up one seat of its quota to RJD, which has one MLA.
Congress seats depend on MLA
The number of seats Congress will get in Hemant’s cabinet is said to depend on the MLA’s decision. On November 29, Male called a high-level meeting in Ranchi. At this meeting it is possible to make a decision on joining the government.
When the Nitish and Tejashwi government was formed in Bihar in 2022, Male decided to provide support from outside. If MLA takes a similar decision in Jharkhand, then Congress can get four seats in Hemant’s cabinet.
If ML enters the government, there will be a reduction in seats in Congress.

To fix their place in Hemant’s cabinet, Congress MPs have started touring Delhi. The leaders whose visit to Delhi is under discussion include the names of Paudeyahat MLA Pradeep Yadav, Bermo MLA Anoop Singh and Bandhu Tirkey.
Bandhu Tirkey is busy defending his daughter and Mandar MLA Shilpi Neha Tirkey. Similarly, Pradeep is trying to become a minister in the vacant OBC quota seat. After Banna Gupta’s defeat from the Jamshedpur West seat, the OBC quota seat fell vacant.

The Congress demanded the post of deputy CM in the Jharkhand cabinet, but Hemant Soren also did not accept it. Now Congress is considering the vice president position. There has been no vice president in Jharkhand for a long time.
