The Maha Kumbh Mela to be held in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, in January next year will be aided by Artificial Intelligence (AI) equipped cameras and digital media platforms to reunite those separated with their families. Additional in-charge of the fair Vivek Chaturvedi said that along with these cameras equipped with artificial intelligence technology, social media platforms like Facebook and ‘X’ will also help in finding the separated persons immediately. He said that this time people who come to Mahakumbh in large numbers from India and abroad will not be afraid of losing their loved ones.
328 cameras with AI will monitor the entire fair area
The official said that the Khoya-Paya Digital Center will be launched by the fair administration from December 1. Chaturvedi said that through this, 328 AI cameras will monitor the entire fair area and all these cameras have been tested. He said that following the government’s instructions, the work of installing large-scale cameras is in its final stages and these special AI cameras have also been tested at four locations in the fair area. The official said that the digital lost and found centers will work with the help of technology and in this, digital registration of each missing person will be done immediately after which the artificial intelligence cameras will start searching for the missing.

The additional Fair official said that not only this, the information about the missing people will also be shared on Facebook and ‘X’. He said facial recognition technology will be used to identify missing people and cameras equipped with artificial intelligence will instantly identify the person by taking a photograph.
