The party’s minority cell organized this rally near Raj Bhavan, where protesters raised slogans demanding withdrawal of the bill. At the same time, the protesters also submitted a memorandum to President Draupadi Murmu through the Khurda district collector.

The central government is expected to debate this issue in the winter session of Parliament beginning on Monday. The government has listed 16 bills, including the Waqf Amendment Bill, for this session. At the same time, after the BJD rally, the protesters submitted a memorandum to President Draupadi Murmu through the Khurda district collector. In it he made some suggestions and expressed concern over the proposed amendments in the 1995 Waqf Act.
“We urge that this bill be withdrawn and that before any amendment is tabled in Parliament, extensive consultations be carried out with stakeholders to address their concerns,” the memo said. Will strongly oppose bill in Parliament – BJD leader
BJD minority cell president and MP Munna Khan said his party MPs will strongly oppose the Waqf (Amendment) Bill in Parliament. However, BJP state president Manmohan Samal said the central government will not do injustice to any community. The JPC has so far held five meetings on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, in which the questions and answers on this bill lasted for a total of 29 hours.
