Srinagar: National Conference leader Nasir Aslam Wani on Wednesday claimed that Articles 370 and 35A would not have been removed from Jammu and Kashmir if the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) had not joined hands with the BJP to gain power in the then state of full rights 2014. What did Wani say about the PDP accusations?
The PDP recently alleged that the National Conference is not taking seriously the resolution passed in the Assembly earlier this month. When asked about this, Wani said, “If they (PDP) had not supported the BJP in 2014, Article 370 and Article 35A would not have been removed.” We don’t even have to look at the devastation that has occurred in the last 10 years.
‘We will fulfill the promise made in the manifesto’
Referring to the unrest in the valley between 2008 and 2016, he said: “Everything we have promised in our manifesto, we will deliver.” They (the PDP) are involved in political anarchy. “He has always supported anarchy, whether in 2008 or 2010. Then in 2016 they did the same.” Wani said the PDP never thought of contributing to the development and progress of the people. He said the opposition party should introspect. (with language inputs)
