Opposition uproar over Adani and Sambhal case, Lok Sabha process postponed

New Delhi. Members of the Congress, the Samajwadi Party (SP) and some of their other allies created a ruckus in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday over the issue related to the Adani Group and the violence in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, for which the House met for about five minutes later. It had to be postponed until 12 noon.
As soon as the House proceedings began, Congress members rose from their places and tried to raise the issue related to the Adani Group. Some members were also heard mentioning the postponement notice.
The SP members tried to bring up the Sambhal incident. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla began the question hour amid slogans from opposition members. Many Congress and SP members approached the pedestal and started raising slogans. During the question hour, Bharatiya Janata Party member Arun Govil asked additional questions related to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, which were answered by the department’s minister Ashwini Vaishnav.
Birla approached the podium and appealed to the opposition members who were raising slogans to go to their places and allow the question hour to continue. Referring to Govil, he said this is the first time he is asking questions, so debates in the House should be allowed to continue. However, the uproar did not stop and the slogans of the opposition members continued.
The Lok Sabha Speaker told the slogan-raising Opposition members that Question Hour is an important time, it is everyone’s time. If you allow question time to continue, you will be given the opportunity to discuss each topic. If you want to create a planned deadlock, that is not appropriate. Later, around 11:05 a.m., he suspended the House debates until 12 noon.
