Oreshnik hypersonic ballistic missile Russia – After blowing up Ukraine’s military industry, Russia said – We were testing a new hypersonic IRBM missile, we did not attack with ICBMs – Russia tested a new hypersonic oreshnik irbm in Ukraine’s dnipro

The missile attack carried out by Russia between 5 and 7 a.m. on November 21, 2024 in Dnepro, Ukraine, did not include ICBMs, that is, ICBMs. Russian President Vladimir Putin himself revealed this in his speech. He said that we have not attacked with intercontinental ballistic missiles but with a new missile. The Pentagon has also confirmed that most of the Oreshnik missile is derived from the RS-26 missile.

The official image of the Oreshnik missile that Russian President Putin talks about is not available anywhere. To date, this image received from X handle has not been confirmed. But it looks similar to the Soviet-era RSD-10 Pioneer missile. The top is MIRV, that is, the ability to attack multiple targets simultaneously.

This new missile is an Oreshnik intermediate-range hypersonic ballistic missile (9M729- Oreshnik Hypersonic IRBM). Its speed is 12,300 kilometers per hour. Both conventional and nuclear weapons can be installed there. Its speed does not allow it to be easily intercepted.

Using this missile, Russia attacked the Palestinian Authority Pivdenmash facility in Dnipro. Looking at the videos that are yet to come, it seems that the missile has MIRV technology. That means the ability to hit multiple targets simultaneously. According to the Sputnik media, three to six warheads with a power of 150 kilotons can be installed on it. Russia carried out this retaliatory attack when Ukraine was continuously attacked with American ATACMS and Storm Shadow missiles received from Britain and France.

MIRV technology means how many weapons are placed on the top of any missile. As in this image, three warheads have been installed on the top of the missile. Their number can be up to 10 or 16.

How long will it take for this missile to reach which European country?

If this missile is fired from Astrakhan, Russia, it will take 19 minutes to reach England, 14 minutes to reach Belgium, 11 minutes to reach Germany, and only 8 minutes to reach Poland. One more thing is coming to light: Russia has kept the technology of this missile similar to the Soviet-era Pioneer (RSD-10) missile system. Which was abolished after the INF Treaty of 1987 in the United States and the Soviet Union.

Under this treaty, it was agreed that both countries would eliminate ground-launched ballistic and cruise missiles. Especially those with a range of 500 to 5500 kilometers. In 1991, Russia had destroyed 2,692 missiles. Which also included the Pioneer missile. But its technology is still in the hands of Russia.

This new Russian missile is a mix of two dangerous missiles

To create the Oreshnik missile, the technology of two dangerous Russian missiles has been combined. The first is the RS-26 Rubezh ICBM and the second is the submarine-launched S-30 Bulava missile. The Ukrainian Air Force also confirmed this attack. Apart from this missile, the attack was also carried out with Kinjal Hypersonic and KH-101 cruise missiles. The Ukrainian Air Force has confirmed that its important institutions, buildings and structures have been damaged. Non-nuclear weapons were used in this attack.

Learn about the power of the RS-26 Rubezh ICBM…

The weight of this missile is 36 thousand kg. Four weapons of 150/300 kilotons each can be installed simultaneously on it. That means the missile is equipped with MIRV technology. That means it can attack four targets simultaneously. This missile is also capable of carrying the Avangard hypersonic glide vehicle. Its range is 6000 km. This missile advances towards the target at a speed of 24,500 km/h.

How powerful is the S-30 Bulava missile?

Bulava is a submarine-launched nuclear ballistic missile. It is about 38 feet long. After installing the warhead, its length increases to 40 feet. From 6 to 10 MIRV weapons can be installed on it. All atomic bombs from 100 to 150 kilotons. The range of this missile is 8,300 to 15,000 kilometers. But its speed has not been revealed anywhere. If Russia fires this missile from its borders, it can reach any corner of the world. Whether it’s the United States or Australia.
