Mushal Hussain Malik, wife of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik, who is jailed in a terror financing case, has written a letter to Rahul Gandhi. On Wednesday she asked opposition leader Rahul to initiate a debate in Parliament in favor of her husband. He claimed that Malik can bring peace to Jammu and Kashmir.
Mushal Hussain, former aide to Pakistan’s Prime Minister on human rights and women’s empowerment, has started a new debate by referring to the “three-decade-old treason case” against Yasin Malik. We tell you that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has demanded the death penalty against Yasin Malik.
In a social media post, the Pakistani journalist wrote: “Mushal Malik has asked Rahul Gandhi to save her husband Yasin Malik, who is on indefinite hunger strike in Tihar Jail amid his rapidly deteriorating health. “He has requested his transfer to the ICU.” sought judicial review and warned of judicial negligence as NIA demands death penalty in 30-year-old treason case.
The life sentence was imposed in 2022.
Yasin Malik himself is debating the appeal filed by the NIA in the Delhi High Court, in which he has been asked for the death penalty in the terror financing case. The NIA filed charges in the 2017 terror financing case against several people, including Malik, who was sentenced to life imprisonment by a trial court in 2022 after being found guilty of the charges against him.
“Yasin Malik is on indefinite hunger strike”
Yasin Malik’s wife said: “Since November 2, Malik has been on an indefinite hunger strike to protest against inhumane treatment in prison. “This hunger strike will have a negative impact on his health and will endanger the life of a person who chose to abandon the armed struggle and believe in the concept of non-violence.”

Mushal Malik further said, “Rahul ji, I am remembering these stories not to glorify Malik but to tell you that he must keep his promises.”
Apart from this, Mushal also alleged that since 2019, Malik is being harassed by the BJP government in “every unimaginable way”. He is facing trial in a 35-year-old war case against India and now the NIA is demanding the death penalty in the fabricated cases filed against him. “I request him (Rahul) to use his great moral and political influence in Parliament and initiate a debate on the Yasin Malik case, which can become a means to return organic and cosmetic peace to Jammu and Kashmir.”
