Islamabad: On the orders of the Government of Pakistan, authorities have taken strict action on the rally of imprisoned former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party. Under the plan, authorities have banned all gatherings of five or more people in and around the capital for two months. Due to this move by Islamabad authorities, the rally by Imran Khan’s supporters may have already died down.
PTI had announced the demonstration
We told you that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had announced the demonstration last week. The PTI had announced that a rally would be held in Islamabad on November 24 to force the government to release its founder Imran Khan, who has been in prison for more than a year. Following the announcement of the rally, the government imposed Section 144 in Islamabad, under which gathering of people is prohibited.

According to various notifications issued by the office of Islamabad District Magistrate Usman Ashraf, section 144 has been imposed because some elements of the society are planning to gather illegally, which may disturb public peace. According to the notification, public gatherings of five or more people are prohibited because they may “endanger public peace and harmony, endanger human life and safety.”
‘There may be damage to public property’
The notification said that people planning to gather illegally may cause damage to public properties and pose a threat to common people. These people may also cause riots or mayhem, including communal riots within the territorial or fiscal limits of Islamabad district. (Language)
