(Panipat News) Panipat. The Nirvana festival of Lord Mahavir Swami, the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism and the festival of Diwali were celebrated with great pomp. On this occasion, a special Moksha Kalyanak worship of Lord Mahavir was performed at Shri Digambar Jain Bada Mandir Jain Mohalla along with the seven Digambar Jain temples of Panipat. After that, everyone recited Nirvana Kand and offered Nirvana Ladu at the feet of the Dedicated Lord.
Along with Nirvana Mahotsav, Veer Samvat 2550 also concluded today. Veer Samvat 2550 was celebrated as the Year of Non-Violence. This year it was celebrated at the national level. This festival of Prime Minister Narendra Modi began as the Year of Non-Violence and ended today with great pomp. Veer Sawant 2551 will begin from tomorrow and will be celebrated as New Year in Jainism. Giving information, advocate Mehul Jain said that Diwali has a special significance in Jainism because on this day Lord Mahavir attained salvation and later in the night, Lord Mahavir’s first Ganadhar Shri Gautam Swami ji attained Kevalgyan.
