Police interrogate former BRS MLA, phone tapping matter

A former MLA from Telangana has been questioned by the Hyderabad police. Former Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) MLA Jaipal Yadav appeared before the Hyderabad Police today i.e. Saturday after being summoned in connection with the investigation into the phone hacking case. Let us tell you that Jaipal Yadav is the second former MLA to be called for questioning in connection with the probe into allegations of illegal phone tapping during the previous BRS government.

The police had given notice.

Yadav, after interrogation, said that he had received a notice for sharing his phone number with a police officer involved in the case. Jaipal said he gave correct answers to the police’s questions. We reported that another former BRS MLA, Chirumarthi Lingaiah, was questioned on November 14, following which Jaipal Yadav was called to answer the questions.

3 have been arrested so far

Hyderabad Police has arrested 3 suspended officers and a retired Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in this case since March 13. All of these defendants are accused of tampering with intelligence information and being involved in wiretapping. Authorities are also currently searching for the former head of the State Information Office and another suspect, both of whom are believed to live in the United States. Police sources reported that the detainees had tapped the phones of politicians, a Superior Court judge, his family and other people.
