Mumbai A lot of agitation has been observed in the voting of the assembly elections in Maharashtra. Congress leader Sushil Kumar Shinde and his daughter Praniti Shinde have supported independent candidate Dharamraj Kadadi from Solapur South seat. Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena had fielded a candidate from here, who is part of the Mahavikas Aghadi alliance with the Congress. In such a situation, Sushil Kumar Shinde’s decision has surprised everyone. It now remains to be seen what effect his support has in this seat. Sushil Kumar Shinde had come to cast his vote and when he came out of the booth with his daughter, he announced his support for the independent candidate. Giving information about his stand, Sushil Kumar Shinde said: I think Dharamraj Kadadi is a good candidate. They are and will be good for the future of the region. Initially, Dilip Mane seemed to have a chance from Congress but he didn’t get the form. In such a situation, we have now decided to support Dharamraj only. Even before this, Shinde had expressed surprise at giving this seat to Uddhav Sena. He said the Congress has a strong support base here. In such a situation, it is wrong for this seat to go to Uddhav Sena. The country’s former Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde had said that this area has been a Congress stronghold. I was elected here and got the opportunity to work as CM of Maharashtra. Shiv Sena hastily declared Amar Patil as its candidate from here, but his claim from here is invalid. The Congress has continuously held this seat and has been winning. In such a situation, giving this seat to Shiv Sena is beyond comprehension. At the same time, his daughter Praniti also confirmed her father’s point, Shinde said that the Solapur South seat has historically been with the Congress. Praniti said this has been a Congress bastion and even the CM has been elected by winning from here. Until now we followed the Aghadi religion from here. But like in Pandharpur, friendly competition was not possible here. In such a situation, we decided to support only the independent candidate.
