In the by-elections held for nine seats in the state, the Congress had sought five seats, but the SP announced that it would grant only two seats. As the seats could not be decided till the last moment, the Congress abandoned the electoral field. In this situation, the SP has fielded candidates for all nine seats. Last week, Akhilesh Yadav held a public meeting in Ghaziabad, in which many Congress leaders participated. The Congress has also removed in-charges and observers from all seats. Meanwhile, most of the Congress leaders have turned up for the by-elections being held in Wayanad. In such a situation, the Indian Alliance has prepared a strategy to organize two or three joint rallies in the state from next week. For this, along with SP national president Akhilesh Yadav, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi or Rahul Gandhi, Aam Aadmi Party coordinator Arvind Kejriwal and leaders of other like-minded parties will be summoned. There is a preparation to give the message of unity to the opposition through this joint demonstration.
Big leaders’ programs to be ready soon: Ajay Rai
State Congress president Ajay Rai said that from Ghaziabad to Majhwan, Congress leaders are at booth level. Currently, top leaders have gone to other states including Wayanad. As soon as the program is decided in Uttar Pradesh, he will hold public meetings here. However, no official program has been decided yet.
