Vatican City, Monday, November 18, 2024: Pope Francis’ new book for the Jubilee of 2025 focuses on the theme “Hope never despairs. Pilgrim towards a better world” and will be published by HernĂ¡n Reyes Alcaide, of the publishing house Edizioni Pieme. The book will be published on Tuesday, November 19 in Italy, Spain and Latin America, and later in other countries.
In a section of the book, the Pope referred to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and said that what happened must be investigated. Speaking of countries receiving war refugees, he says: “In the Middle East, where the open doors of countries like Jordan or Lebanon continue to be a source of salvation for millions of people fleeing the conflict in the region: “Thinking of everyone those who leave Gaza in the midst of famine due to the difficulty of finding food and help for their Palestinian brothers and sisters in their own region.
Pope Francis writes: “According to some experts, what is happening in Gaza has the characteristics of a genocide. It is necessary to carefully examine it to determine whether it meets the technical definition formulated by jurists and international organizations. “It fits or not.”
