There are more than four lakh voters in the Prayagraj assembly seat in Phulpur, so the caste equation here becomes very important. Most of the voters in the assembly constituency are from the Dalit community. Their number exceeds 80 thousand. Among the decisive voters here are 70,000 voters from the Kurmi community. In view of this, political parties have been banking on the Kurmi community here. The BJP candidate is also from this community. There are 18,000 Pal voters in this seat, who gain importance in the OBC group when the margin of victory is four to five thousand. Pooja Pal has her eyes on these voters. Pooja is making contact only in Pal dominated areas.
Why does Pooja Pal support the BJP?
SP MLA Pal rose to fame when he supported the BJP through cross-voting in the Rajya Sabha elections. After this, it became an eyesore for SP. Pooja also met CM Yogi Adityanath and Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya several times. She openly supported the BJP in the Phulpur seat. Who is MLA Pooja Pal?
Pooja Pal is the wife of former BSP MLA Raju Pal, who was the MLA of West Prayagraj town. On January 25, 2005, BSP MLA from Raju Pal, western assembly seat of Prayagraj town, was shot dead in broad daylight. Mob Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were accused of murdering her husband. Pooja Pal had to fight a long legal battle in this matter. However, Atiq and Ashraf have been killed. The Lucknow CBI Court has also convicted many murderers involved in the Raju Pal murder case. The yogi government of UP had helped Pooja Pal in punishing Raju Pal’s murderers. His Pooja Pal leaned towards the BJP in the Rajya Sabha elections.
