Preparations for the Chhath festival are in full swing across the country, including Bihar. Chhath Puja will begin from November 5. Nahay Khay will be offered on 5th November, Kharna on 6th and Arghya will be offered in the evening sun on 7th November. Arrangements for offering puja and arghya at the Gangetic ghats in Patna are being improved. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar took stock of the security arrangements in the city in connection with the Chhath festival. He surveyed the Gangetic ghats from the steamer. Instructing officials in this regard, Chief Minister Nitish said that all preparations at Chhath Ghats should be completed on time and no work should be left incomplete.

People who fast Chhath should not face any problem.

Nitish Kumar said better arrangements should be made so that people fasting on Chhath do not face any problem while offering Arghya. Considering the water level and flow of river Ganga, strong security measures must be taken at Chhath Ghats. Strong barricades should be erected around Chhath Ghats for the safety of devotees. There should be easy access to the ghats. Barricades should also be placed near roads to facilitate the movement of Chhath fastis.

Inspection of Ganga Ghats in Patna

The Chief Minister said that during Chhath Puja, Chhath devotees and devotees should be continuously informed through microphone about the arrangements made at the ghats. Make smooth traffic arrangements for Chhath devotees and devotees to reach Chhath ghats so that Chhath devotees do not face any inconvenience in transportation. Make complete arrangements for cleaning at Chhath Ghats.
