Anger in farmers’ organizations after arrest of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal
Breaking News from Punjab (Aaj Samaj), Chandigarh: Even before he fasted to death on Tuesday, police picked up farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal from his shop on Monday night and took him to an unknown location. The police action against Dallewal sparked a wave of anger among farmers’ organisations. Throughout the day there was a gathering of farmers at the Khanauri border and slogans were raised against the police and the government.
Angered by the police action, farmer leader Pandher said all roads leading to the Khannauri border will be blocked by installing tractor-trolleys. Guards will be provided day and night. This is the second entry of Kisan Andolan 2.0, which will be sacrificed to make it completely successful. Arrangements for the farmers were not yet complete, so Dallewal was taken away. This won’t happen now. He also said that on behalf of the Centre, Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu has made it clear that he has nothing to do with this matter. Now Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann should clarify his stand.

Sukhjit Singh Hardojhanda fasted until death
Jagjit Singh Dallewal was to begin fasting unto death on Tuesday. But after being arrested, peasant leader Sukhjit Singh Hardojhanda fasted to death. Thousands of men and women reached the Khanauri border and also held a march against the government. The peasant organizations have given a 10-day ultimatum to the central government; if their demands are not met, they will intensify the movement. Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher said if the government does not take any decision, farmers will march in groups to the Shambhu border on December 6.
