He chaired a meeting with experts in agriculture and horticulture, PAU officials and scientists from various institutions related to agriculture and horticulture. During this, he instructed the officials of the department to work quickly to export fruits and vegetables from the state of Punjab to other countries.
Allocate 10 per cent of the total panchayat land in the state for horticulture.
During the meeting, the Cabinet Minister directed the officials to work towards 10 per cent of the total Panchayat lands in the state of Punjab being dedicated to horticulture. Additionally, care must be taken that the land marked for gardening is watered. He said this work will be supervised by the Horticulture Department and the Panchayati Raj Department and the possibilities of horticulture on this land will be explored through MNREGA.

The Cabinet Minister said that if we adopt agriculture as per the demand of the European market, it will not only help keep the environment pure but also increase the income of farmers. He said that nature has given the world more than 70 lakh species of plants, but so far we have only been able to include a few hundred of them in horticulture.
