Update on Punjab Farmers Protest (Aaj Samaj), Chandigarh: Peasant organizations will once again reinforce the movement that has been developing on the Punjab border since February 13 with their demands. Announcing this, farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal said that the movement will strengthen at the Shambhu and Khanauri border in the coming days. He said we do not want a conflict with the Central Government agitating but the Centre’s stubborn attitude is forcing the farmers. He said if the central government accepts the demands of farmers’ organisations, why would they agitate?

51 members of the farmers group will march

Explaining the future strategy, the farmer leader said that it has been decided that on December 6, a 51-member group will march on foot towards the Shambhu border, where three to four farmer leaders from each of the agitating groups in Borders will also be included. Later, as necessary, a decision will be taken that if the farmers reach Delhi, how will arrangements be made for getting langar water, sleeping and accommodation there? But currently the first priority of the farmers is to reach Delhi and get the Center to address their demands.

Fasting until death will begin on November 26

Yesterday, United Kisan Morcha (Apolitical) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha said they will intensify their agitation by fasting unto death from November 26 in support of various demands, including legal guarantee for MSP. It may be noted that under Kisan Andolan 2, some farmer organizations from Punjab were heading towards Delhi with a convoy of hundreds of farmers but were stopped within the borders of Punjab. After which farmers have been agitating at the Shambhu and Khanauri border since February.
